These increases are also based off the upgrade template. The amount of defense and damage the item receives as it gets leveled up can be observed below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. In addition to practice equipment, all other weapons and armor gain these same stats when leveled up. The value of these additional stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled weapon or piece of armor can command significantly higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other armor pieces, such as circlets and tiaras.
